Svetlana Bogatcheva is an artist and a meditation teacher. Her art should be seen as an immediate manifestation of her spiritual practice,a quiet pursuit of raising consciousness, finding clarity, authenticity, peace and liberation. Her mission is to demonstrate that both art and spiritual practices are very powerful coupled in order to produce an awakening, in a time when we need it most. Bogatcheva brings an extensive familiarity of using materials and her particular compositional technique to each painting and collage. Her goal is developing unique techniques of working and experiment with diverse materialities, textures and surfaces to awaken a particular state in the viewer. A state of simply being, beyond mind and matter. The artist is extending an invitation to experience presence and contemplate impermanence, imperfection, time, self-realisation, duality and a higher consciousness. She employs natural and recycled materials like textile, rubber, plastic, paper, minerals, pigments, plants, earth and ash. Svetlana Bogatcheva (St Petersburg. 1986) is based in Finland, where she works in her studio as well as teaching yoga and meditation. Her artworks have been shown in exhibitions in Finland and the U.K. and are included in private art collections in e.g. Scandinavia, the UK, Brazil, Kuwait, Canada and the USA. Her most significant achievement is participating at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition (2015).
